Our story began in 1978 on one of the many dust roads of then rural Bhadohi, India. It is here where Late Mr. Yaqub discovered the art of rug-making. He started producing rugs conducting most of the business from his home and on his bicycle. ‘MYS’ gives legacy to his sons who have persevered to keep his vision alive. Over the span of 4 decades, MYS will grow out of his home to its own facility and to export rugs to the world.
While the industry switches to mechanical production, we strive to preserve the art passed down to us. It takes many hands to perfect each rug, from the designers who envision, the dyers who force out the vibrant colors to the artisans who turn vision to reality. We pride ourselves on our collection as well as our ability to produce custom rugs detailed to the knot. Now run by his son, Mr. Shamim who possesses the same passion for rugs as his father, MYS represents the finest of what the Indian rug industry can produce.
